Well I missed the colour palette for December, rather busy, but here is January’s.
I took this photograph in June near Braemar, in Scotland. We’d taken a walk in the woods above the Linn of Dee. By the bridge over the Linn were some beautiful Scots Pines and I spotted the wonderful bark and I’ve been doing some colour and texture studies.
This isn’t my usual colour choice, but I like these softer, more subtle colours and the textures of the bark make me think of folds and pleats which are something I’m researching within woven double cloth at the moment.
