I took time out of my schedule to visit Interiors UK at the NEC on Tuesday. There wasn’t much in the way of textiles, to speak of! The highlight of the whole show, for me, was the fabric banners, Ercol couch and Chaise Longue in printed fabrics designed by Ptolemy Mann and her inspirational talk in the afternoon.
There was a second couch, in a slightly different print which I like better, but someone was sitting on it! The prints are digital copies of Ptolemy’s signature fabrics.
This isn’t a great image of the chaise longue, someone was sitting on the one next to it, but I had to take a photograph, I just love this print.
Ptolemy’s talk, The Architecture of Cloth, Colour and Space, introduced her latest exhibition which has just finished at Ruthin. It goes on to several other galleries and end in Nottinghamshire, so I should manage to get to see it.
